Preface

This book describes the AccuRev command-line interface (CLI) and how to use it to accomplish everyday AccuRev tasks like creating workspaces, keeping and promoting work, and diffing files and issues.

Using This Book

This book assumes you are familiar with general AccuRev concepts and behavior. Book contents are summarized in the following table:

Chapter 1 Overview of the AccuRev® Command-Line Interface	Provides an orientation to the AccuRev command-line interface.
Chapter 2 AccuRev® Command-Line Reference	Provides a detailed description of the accurev program, the main command-line tool in the AccuRev configuration management system.
Chapter 3 AccuWork™ Command-Line Interface	Describes aspects of the command-line interface relevant to the AccuWork issue management system.
Chapter 4 XML Output Reference	Provides detailed information on the XML output of certain CLI commands.

Typographical Conventions

This book uses the following typographical conventions:

Convention	Description
blue sans-serif	Used for sample code or output.
red monospace	Used for examples.
bold	Used for command names, and button names in the AccuRev user interface
light italic	Used for emphasis, book titles, and for first use of important terms
blue italic	Identifies a hyperlink (to a page or Web URL, for example)
