Run Initial Data Admin Configuration
Use the following procedure to configure Data Admin after installation.
To configure Data Admin

Run Data Admin once without a
config.jsonfile in your Data Admin home directory. When it runs the first time, Data Admin generates a default configuration file. -
Open the generated
config.jsonfile in a text editor and find the generated default user name and password (login.defaultLogin.usernameandlogin.defaultLogin.password). -
In your web browser, go to
http://Hostname:Port, whereHostnameis the IP address or name of the machine on which Data Admin is installed, andPortis the port that you have installed Data Admin on (for example,8080). -
Log in using the default user name and password from the configuration file.
The Settings page opens.

Fill in the details of your backend components. Click Test Connection for each server to confirm that a connection can be established from the Data Admin server.
You might need different components depending on whether you want to set up and use Search Optimizer, Answer Bank, or both. For the list of required components, see Required Knowledge Discovery Components.

(Optional) In the Search Engine section, set a URL to use to send queries to an external search engine. This search engine is used by the Answer Bank user interface when a user uses the Search Web options.

Click Save Changes.

In the setup wizard, click Next. The User Management page opens.

Add your users, and then use the credentials for one of those users to log into the application. See User Roles.
Data Admin is now ready for use.
Change Application Configuration Settings
Users with the Administrator role can use the User Management and Settings pages to change the application configuration settings.
To open the User Management page

In the list, click Users.
The User Management page opens.
To open the Settings page

In the list, click Settings.
The Settings page opens.
